Risk Management / Employee Coordination

Beacon can provide Clients with company representation when a Client’s employees are transferred from remote work sites for medical reasons. Beacon will respond at the direction of the Client’s HSE Manager or designee.

Beacon staff is experienced and familiar with work site procedures and paperwork. We are positioned to facilitate this process between remote or local site clinics and the Anchorage office.

In providing this service, Beacon will be able to ensure the Client’s legal obligations to the employee are met and the employee receives the high level of care expected by the Client.

The results of this service will greatly reduce the Client’s risk of an employee slipping through the case management system. This process will minimize the reporting impact of job injury/illness on Client statistics. Other benefits include increased employee comfort during their time of injury and will foster a positive relationship between the employee and Client.

Beacon employees are experienced/familiar with the Alaska Worker Compensation Act and understand the importance of good communication between the employee, employer, and health care providers. Our system can be customized to meet Client’s specific needs.

Beacon is currently building a client base to enable participants to share in the cost of providing 24-hour/day on call services. This will allow those clients who participate to share in a “consortium” style cost benefit, with a noticeable cost saving over our standard on call services contract rate.

The first step to ensuring quality is to facilitate coordination of training between Client’s key personnel and Beacon. Beacon believes this is an important step in the integrity management of the risk management system. At this coordination training the system delivery flowchart is discussed, communication channels are distinguished, internal systems within both organizations are outlined, and the integration of the Beacon system within the established in-house processes occurs.

Upon receiving notification from the Client’s representative, usually the HSE Manager or designee, Beacon will provide or facilitate ground transportation for the injured/ill employee from the airport to the receiving health care provider. Beacon personnel will accompany the employee through the “check-in” process and primary assessment. Beacon will interface with the health care provider to ensure that the best interest of the employee and Client are being addressed. This will include discussing early return to work opportunities with the health care provider on behalf of the employee without sacrificing their quality of care. Beacon personnel will ensure the necessary follow-up care is appropriately scheduled and will facilitate employee attendance. At the direction of Client, Beacon will make all the appropriate room accommodations during the employee’s stay in Anchorage. All information and work releases will be distributed to the appropriate Client representative as designated by the Client HSE Manager.
