Testing Methodologies
DOT and DHHS/SAMHSA Certified Testing
Beacon does collections for multiple employers who contract with a variety of laboratories. When providing third party administration, Beacon utilizes NWT Drug Testing laboratory. NWT is a SAMHSA certified laboratory with an outstanding reputation for reliability and customer service. NWT features 24-hour service, superior adulterant testing and web based reporting.
Oral Fluids Drug Screen
Beacon now offers oral fluids (saliva) drug screens. Our oral fluid testing program includes the same procedures used in DHHS certified urine analysis including MRO review. This process makes oral fluid testing a legally defensible alternative to urine testing for non-DOT employers. Oral fluid collections preclude the opportunity for adulteration and can be conducted quickly and non-intrusively. This could mean a substantial cost saving by lowering costs for collections, scheduling and lost time for your company.
Non-DOT Rapid Result Urine Drug Screening
Beacon uses the InstaCheck rapid drug screening kit for several clients who want immediate drug screening results. This non-DOT test produces a quick result and uses only a few drops of urine. InstaCheck is particularly effective at screening negative results in situations such as pre-employment tests.
Breath Alcohol Testing
All of Beacon’s alcohol testing is conducted by certified Breath Alcohol Technician’s trained in the proper method for testing, calibration and reporting of results. Beacon employees are certified by a factory-authorized trainer and undergo continuous training on DOT rules, modal differences, unique company policies, and how to handle difficult situations in a field environment. Beacon uses the Intoximer, RBT IV evidential breath-testing device. This portable instrument is an industry standard for reliability and convenience and is approved by the National Traffic Safety Administration for evidential breath alcohol testing.
