Confined Space Entry
Course Information: This course is designed to meet the requirements of OSHA 1910.146 Permit Required Confined Space Entry for General Workers. The course will include review of the OSHA requirements for general workers to enter and work in both Permit-Required and Non-Permit Required Confined Spaces. Confined Space Entry is an overview of the safety procedures for employees entering and working in confined spaces. It emphasizes the characteristics of a confined space, the permitting requirements, identifying hazards, the step-by-step procedures for entering and working in a confined space, the responsibilities of each team member, and rescue protocols. It will also introduce students to required PPE and some of the hazards that may be encountered during an entry into a confined space. Although self-and non-entry rescue will be discussed as part of the training, this course does not provide the training necessary to qualify an individual to enter a confined space in order to execute a rescue.
