Brennen Portalski | Careers

Brennen Portalski started working for Beacon in 2012. His first role was as Drug & Alcohol Collection Technician. He then moved up to the Drug & Alcohol Program Administrator and next to Drug & Alcohol Administrative Coordinator. In September 2014, Brennen was promoted to Director, Drug & Alcohol and now provides leadership for his department.

Portalski believes that Beacon’s core values are very important to creating a positive work environment and strong client relationships: “Beacon has created a strong workplace environment that fully aligns with its core values” said Portalski. “We take them very seriously and consider them on a daily basis. My team consistently performs above and beyond to ensure that we are exceeding client expectations.”

Portalski gave an example of how Beacon goes above and beyond: “When clients receive audits from government agencies like the Department of Transportation or the Coast Guard, we help them prepare. We communicate specifics on what they can expect during the audit and provide supporting documentation. We also make ourselves available in case questions arise that they are unable to answer.”

“At Beacon we consider ourselves a “Yes” company. This has had an impact on me both professionally and personally. At work we always have an answer to any client or team member’s question and concern. This is automatic and allows me to commit to tasks that seem impossible.”

“This has rolled over into my personal life in taking on challenges that I never thought I would do prior to working here. For example, I completed a half-marathon, something that I previously thought unobtainable.”

When asked what advice he would give to someone who is considering joining Beacon, Polanski said: “Beacon is a fast paced and growing company. There is a lot of opportunity for growth and advancing your career here. If you’re looking for a place to work hard, have a lot of fun, and help clients and coworkers, this is the place to land. The time and effort you put in will pay off and you’ll love working for this company.”

When Portalski is not working, he loves camping, hiking, snowboarding, riding snowmachines, and spending time with family and friends.
