Jodie Mavis is the HSE Administrative Assistant/Designated Employer Representative (DER) at Udelhoven Oilfield System Services, Inc. At Udelhoven, Jodie manages the company’s drug and alcohol program, employee occupational health, injury case management, training competency, and contractor compliance.
Udelhoven provides oilfield support and general construction services and has been working with Beacon for over 10 years. Udelhoven utilizes Beacon’s training, remote medical, clinical services (third-party administration, occupational medicine, drug and alcohol programs, Fit-for-Duty programs, ergonomics) and safety services (consulting and industrial hygiene).
“Beacon is always flexible and accommodating and can often provide solutions in as little as one day,” said Jodie. “The flexibility to utilize their training resources at their training centers, on-site at our location, online, or in a remote location, provides us with every conceivable venue option and ensures our team is prepared for the field.”
Jodie loves that she can work with one organization where all staff members understand her needs. “I can schedule a new hire for drug testing, respirator fit testing, and NSTC training all at the same location and in many cases on the same day,” she said. “Beacon is a one-stop shop and it really helps to simplify the onboarding process.”
Jodie is also regularly impressed by the responsiveness of Beacon team members. “We work in a very fast paced industry. There are times when we need to get employees in for training or testing immediately and Beacon is always great at accommodating us on short notice,” she said. “I work with Beacon on a daily basis. The staff is extremely outgoing and professional. There are times when I encounter a new situation regarding drug testing and I am confident that I can get immediate guidance from their team.”
“Beacon rarely ever tells me ‘no,'” Jodie said. “Regardless of the issue, they are always able to come up with a solution, even if that means recommending us to a competitor.”
